Salou was the first municipality in Catalonia to be awarded the title of “Family Holiday Resort” thanks to its 7.5 kilometres of very safe beaches, some of them with children’s playgrounds, entertainment, childminding and a wide range of water sports. Fun activities ranging from catamaran trips to sailing and diving courses are organised by the Water Sports Centre run jointly by the resorts of Salou, Cambrils, Mont-roig/Miami-Platja and Vandellòs/Hospitalet de l’Infant.
Mild, year-round temperatures, safe, well-kept beaches with sands that shelve gently into the Mediterranean and have all the necessary services and facilities, small attractive coves in natural surroundings, a town planning that places great emphasis on green spaces and gardens and wide range of entertainment and leisure activities are just some of the factors that have led Salou to be recognised as the “Capital of the Costa Daurada”.
