Cultural Tourism on the Costa Dorada

Under the name of Costa Dorada, which receives its name due to the color of its beaches with fine sands of an intense golden color, warm and shallow waters; there is the coastal area of southern Catalonia, the coast of Tarragona, limiting to the north with Sitges and the Costa del Garraf; and reaching the Ebro Lands to the south. In the interior we will find the region of Conca de Barberà and the Sierra del Montsant, in the heart of Priorat.

Since ancient times, the Costa Dorada has welcomed the most diverse civilizations that have left an important mark on its architecture, gastronomy, art, and in a general way on its culture. From the Iberians, who left their remains in Calafell, to the monumental remains of the Roman Tarraco, passing through the monasteries of the Cistercian route and the "modernist" buildings of Reus and Tarragona, the Costa Dorada will allow us to delve into its history and culture.

Sample of this miscegenation are also its festivals and folklore (with ancestral traditions), activities that should not be missed by all those who want to enjoy this fantastic region intensely. Information on all the activities that can be carried out can be found on the website of the Tarragona Provincial Council's Tourist Board.
